Gadsby's will only collect personal information with the client’s consent and for the purposes outlined under “Collection”. The client’s personal information will only be collected online when they decide to request our newsletters or contact us by e-mail. The client’s consent to collection may also be provided: in person in our retail showroom, by telephone, fax or mail, or by completing a check box on a form. If a client requests that their name deleted from our mailing list, please put their request in writing and forward to the marketing department.
We use the information we collect about our clients to establish a helping relationship, to provide ongoing service and to protect them and us against error or fraud.
What personal information do we collect?
The information we collect will depend on the reason for collection and could include: the client’s name, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number, credit information relating to payment and limited purchase history.
Why do we collect personal information?
We collect this information only if required to process any of the following: completion of a sales transaction, delivery of product, registration of products for third party suppliers, inclusion on our mailing list or entry in a contest or survey.
Use, Disclosure and Retention.
We restrict and limit access to client information only to those employees who need it to carry out their business functions. As an employee you are responsible to safeguard customer information and prevent its unauthorized access, disclosure, or use. The client’s personal information will be retained only for as long as it is required for the reasons it was collected.
We maintain appropriate security measures to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of data within our system. In certain circumstances, we may share personal information with trusted service providers that need access to information to provide operational or other support services. To ensure the confidentiality and security of information, these service providers must agree to safeguard information in strict compliance with our policy.
If a client has provided personal information to Gadsby's, they may check the accuracy of that information; however we will require specific identification from the client in order to do so.
